Established since 1991, Dunbar, Bender & Zapf, Inc. is a TPA firm located in Green Tree, just outside of downtown Pittsburgh providing recordkeeping, administration and actuarial services for clients' retirement plans.  

Our firm is seeking a defined contribution administrator who is eager to learn full-service plan administration in a team environment. This is a remote position for a qualified individual who exhibits self-discipline, strong communication skills, excellent organization and the ability to function within a team.  

Qualifications: 

  • 1-4 years of experience in defined contribution plan administration including census scrubbing, trust accounting, and Form 5500 drafting for large and small plan filers 
  • General understanding of non-discrimination testing, plan corrections and compliance concepts 
  • Progress toward, or interest in pursuing, ASPPA credentials 
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook 
  • Exposure to FTWilliam compliance software  
  • Foundational understanding of business, finance, mathematics, accounting, or related disciplines through education or professional experience 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills 
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills 
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting established deadlines 
  • Demonstrated willingness to learn new concepts, accept coaching, and develop technical expertise 
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with team members 

Responsibilities may include: 

  • Gathering and analyzing data to determine eligibility for participation and contributions 
  • Performing discrimination testing 
  • Preparing government filings 
  • Reviewing/preparing paperwork for distributions and loans and other withdrawal options 
  • Identifying and providing corrections for any plan errors through review of the plan document  
  • Research of governmental regulations  
  • Communicating directly with clients
