Sr. Plan Administrator
Fully Remote TPA
(Remote)
What you will do:
- Communicate with client, accountant, attorney and investment advisor on plan related issues.
- Develop relationships with clients to establish long-term working relationships
- Preparation
and review of annual reporting and use of judgement required on qualified defined contribution and/or defined benefit plans for review including:
- Review and Interpret the plan document
specifications;
- Prepare optimum annual contribution allocations/outcomes;
- Review reconciled trust accounts for trustee directed accounts;
- Perform non-discrimination testing (combined plan where
applicable);
- Calculate maximum benefits (415(b)) as needed;
- Prepare IRS Forms 5330, and 5500 and all applicable schedules including schedules for audited plans;
- Work closely with CPA’s for audited large plan filers;
and
- Identify highly compensated and key employees and assure minimum allocations to non-highly compensated and non-key employees are met.
- Utilize and maintain database fields tracking plan provisions, contact info, receipt
of client data, and updated client information;
- Consult with clients regarding plan terminations;
- Review draft amendments and plan documents
- Maintain responsibility of client caseload
management;
- Track data received and not received and follow up with related parties to receive data;
- Review of participant disclosures and notifications.
What you need to have:
- A High School Diploma
or GED required; Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred;
- Professional designation (such as ASPPA, NIPA) preferred (example QKA, QPA, CPC, APA, EA, ERPA);
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in third party
administration
Job Summary
The Senior Plan Administrator is the dedicated contact for a set group of clients and is responsible for guiding each client in maintaining compliance with IRS/DOL rules as it relates to
their retirement plan. This individual is the face of ABC to the client and must build and foster these pre-existing client relationships. We pride ourselves on exceptional customer service and want the Senior Plan Administrator to showcase this in each
client interaction. This role requires a thorough understanding of IRS/DOL rules, but also the ability to clearly explain these rules to the client in simple terms.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Dedicated Contact for assigned
group of clients (Typically 80-100 Plans)
- Assist the client in ensuring the plan is meeting all retirement plan qualification guidelines
- Recommend changes to plan design or operation as needed
- Compliance testing and review of
plan/participant limits
- Contribution reconciliation
- Employer contribution calculations
- Preparation & filing of annual DOL/IRS required forms
Primary Skills & Requirements:
- 3+ Years of
experience is preferred
- ASPPA QKA Certification preferred (or interest in obtaining)
- Computer & technical literacy (Microsoft Office Suite)
- Exceptional communication skills (Written & Verbal)
- Accountable &
self-sufficient
- Ability to adhere to deadlines
- Desire to provide extraordinary customer service
