Job Title:  401(k) Testing Assistant Manager

Reports To: Sr. Manager, Testing & Plan Analytics
Positions Supervised:  Testing Analysts

Work Schedule: Monday – Friday with flexible working hours between 7:30a – 6:30p

Assessments: Excel –Intermediate

POSITION SUMMARY

The Assistant Manager - Testing Team will manage a staff of testing analysts, who is responsible for performing required non-discrimination tests for qualified retirement plans.  The Assistant Manager will need to understand the rules around non-discrimination testing and be able to perform the required tests as well as provide guidance and support to the staff and assign project work, as needed. 

The compliance testing process, dictated by IRS regulations pursuant to qualified retirement plans, includes data review (both participant and plan), data analysis, and the review and determination of corrective measures, when required.  The Testing team is responsible for the preparation and distribution test results. The Assistant Manager must be familiar with and be able to utilize proprietary software programs and Microsoft Excel to gather data and to perform a comprehensive analysis to ensure regulatory requirements are fully addressed.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Supervise the performance and development of testing analysts and manage the work of contracted workers and consultants
  • Act as Subject Matter Expert (SME) to internal stakeholders regarding nondiscrimination testing
  • Assist with the review of work completed by the testing team to ensure it has been performed in accordance with industry, regulatory and organizational standards
  • Provide support and direction on process and system-related issues to executive leadership and staff
  • Support the development of departmental strategies and policies associated with the company’s goals and initiatives
  • Identify areas where we can create efficiencies and optimize workflows
  • Monitor employee performance and employee review data for submission to department manager
  • Assist management with identifying required departmental resources
  • Clearly communicate expectations and deadlines to team members
  • Provide support for internal and external client escalations related team activities
  • Approve IT requests and Internal Business requests for 401(k) Testing team
  • Maintain process documentation for Testing team
  • Assist with providing training to Testing team members and update training manuals for process changes
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as required

SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Mid-to-Advanced knowledge of ERISA, IRS, and DOL regulations as they pertain to retirement plans and non-discrimination testing
  • Comfortability behaving as a SME resource for other team members
  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint)
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal Demonstrated knowledge of
  • Extremely detail oriented and organized with the ability to meet strict deadlines
  • Ability to perform data analysis

EXPERIENCE

  • 4+ years 401(k) industry experience in a compliance-related capacity required
  • 1+ years of leadership experience required, 2+ years preferred
  • 2+ years of client-facing or customer support experience in the financial services industry required
  • Intermediate Skills in Excel to include working knowledge of Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP and performing basic calculations highly preferred
  • Experience using FIS Relius and full Microsoft Office Suite highly preferred

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or related field of study or equivalent work experience required

CERTIFICATES & LICENSES 

  • QKA license preferred
  • Mandatory completion of RPF 1 and 2 required

This role will have a base pay range of $66,393-$84,506 annual salary. Please know, this is the base range only and does not consider other components that make up the total rewards package for this role. This position is also eligible for an annual performance bonus.
