Retirement Plan Consultant

This is a full-time position as a retirement plan consultant. You will work directly with clients, financial advisors, investment companies, and other service providers and vendors. Successful and focused employees will have the opportunity to advance by taking industry examinations to develop their knowledge and manage a more challenging block of business.

This job requires extreme attention to detail. The position handles the daily review of funds coming into retirement plans as well as distributions and loans. All calculations and drafts must be processed correctly and timely. The annual administration of each plan involves tracking employee census information for plan eligibility and vesting purposes, preparing all year-end reporting and testing, trust accounting, and preparing all required government forms. Excellent communication skills and intuitive thinking are necessary for success in our firm. 

Who will excel in this position? You, if you like having flexibility in your schedule but are also able to set and manage deadlines with a significant number of tasks assigned to you. Successful candidates stop when they have a question or hit a problem and reach out for help, then follow up until the issue is resolved.

QRPS, Inc. is a retirement administration and consulting firm based in Raleigh, NC. We have a significant number of employees in other states and all employees are set up to work remotely. Employees within driving distance of the office have the option of working from the office, if needed. Requirements:

  • Ability to work independently to meet deadlines in an efficient fashion
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Ability to understand and work within our pension and workflow software 
  • Must be detail-oriented and highly organized with strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to draft professional emails and correspondence letters
  • Must employ a client-centric approach to focus on understanding and meeting a client’s needs and goals
  • Must have excellent problem-solving skills to identify issues and develop effective solutions
  • A strong drive to continuously learn and grow in your position
  • Must love dogs (or cats!)

This is a full-time position with salary based on experience. The schedule can be somewhat flexible if approved in advance, but in general all employees are expected to be available during standard work hours to reply to client calls/emails within a reasonable turnaround time.
