LOCATION: on-site Fort Myers, Florida or Ridgewood, NJ (Hybrid); open to remote

RESPONSIBILITIES: This is a full-time role as a 401(k) & Defined Contribution Assistant at PRC&A. The 401(k) & Defined Contribution Assistant will be responsible for day-to-day tasks related to retirement planning, defined contribution and defined benefit administration, and customer service.

  • Delivery of Annual Valuation reports which includes synopsis of the census, asset reconciliation and accrual participant account activity.  Obtaining Form 5500 signatures as needed.  
  • Review and preparation of IRS Forms 1099-R and 945.
  • Daily communication via phone and email with clients, CPAs and Financial Advisors
  • Prepare and delivery of legal plan documents for signature as requested.
  • Census retrieval, including census importing into DATAIR, and assistance to PRC&A plan administrator as needed.
  • Data gathering on all plans prior to turning over to a PRC&A plan administrator.
  • Ability to handle caseload of small to medium-size clients with daily client contact as needed.  Maintain excellent client relationships and provide support to financial advisors as needed.
  • Assist plan sponsor in the preparation of distribution paperwork and with transition of funds by preparing sample letter with transfer instructions.
  • Familiarity with brokerage statements and scanning as needed.

Plans include 401(k), Profit Sharing, Defined Benefit, Cash Balance, & Combo

Prioritize activities and manage time to provide quality client service effectively and efficiently to your assigned plan block

Ensure that our commitments to our clients are met by proactively reviewing the status of assigned plans' periodic activity (compliance testing, 5500, quarterly statements, RMDs, etc.)

Responsible for protecting, securing, and proper handling of all confidential data held by PRC&A to ensure against unauthorized access, improper transmission, and/or unapproved disclosure of information that could result in harm to PRC&A or our clients.

Develop effective working relationships with team and internal departments to provide effective service for our clients.

Provide effective and timely verbal and written communication in a clear, concise, and informative manner to clients and financial advisors.

Maintain and continue to grow detailed knowledge and understanding of retirement plan rules and PRC&A business.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in pension market including Profit Sharing, 401(k), Cross-Tested, Defined Benefit and Cash Balance plans.
  • Bachelor Degree preferred in Business or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 1 to 2 years working with cloud-based CRM platform preferred
  • Member of ASPPA (QPA, QKA) or interest in obtaining designations.
  • Experience with Relius, DATAIR and/or ASC software is beneficial.
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, Zoom or Teams.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently
  • Must be analytical with great attention to detail.

For all virtual remote positions, in order to ensure associates can effectively perform their job duties with no distractions, we require an uninterrupted virtual work space and there is also an expectation of family care being in place during business hours. Additionally, there is an internet work speed requirement of 25 MBps or better for individual use.
