Consulting Actuary

Role Overview: As a Consulting Actuary, you will play a pivotal role in providing strategic advice and technical expertise to our clients in the areas of retirement and other benefit programs. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement customized solutions that address our clients' unique needs and objectives. This role offers the opportunity to work with a diverse range of clients across various industries, providing exposure to complex challenges and opportunities for professional growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conducting actuarial valuations, financial modeling, and risk assessments to support client engagements working with mid to large sized companies.
  2. Providing expert analysis and recommendations on retirement plan design, funding strategies, and regulatory compliance.
  3. Collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders to develop innovative solutions that address client needs and achieve business objectives.
  4. Presenting findings and recommendations to clients in a clear and compelling manner, tailored to their specific audience and objectives.
  5. Keeping abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging best practices to ensure the delivery of high-quality, value-added services to our clients.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field.
  2. ASA (Associate of the Society of Actuaries) designation required; FSA (Fellow of the Society of Actuaries) preferred.
  3. 2+ years of experience in actuarial consulting, with a focus on retirement benefits and pensions.
  4. Possesses expertise in benefit program design.
  5. Well-versed in legislative, accounting, and regulatory standards, including ERISA, PPA, IRS, DOL, PBGC, and FAS.
  6. Strong technical proficiency in actuarial modeling software (e.g., Prophet, AXIS) and Microsoft Excel.
  7. Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and communicate findings effectively.
  8. Proven track record of building and maintaining strong client relationships.
  9. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  10. Commitment to professional development and continuous learning.
