Associate Attorney

Kantor & Kantor, LLP

Southern California-based law firm is seeking a mid-level associate attorney for its ERISA/Retirement Benefits department. The ideal candidate will have experience with class action litigation, have at least 5 years of litigation experience, and preferably experience in ERISA and/or employee benefit cases. The candidate should possess superior writing and research skills, and experience with drafting pleadings, motion practice, written discovery, deposition taking, and discovery disputes. The position is remote, with the occasional need for travel to depositions and court appearances. 


  • Assist with potential client case evaluations.
  • Communicate with clients, counsel, co-counsel, supervising attorneys and staff.
  • Analysis and preparation of discovery requests and responses.
  • Perform legal research, draft memoranda, and collaborate with supervising attorneys as to same.
  • Draft complaints, motions, and other pleadings and documents.
  • Evaluate, draft, and argue dispositive motions.
  • Prepare for, take, and defend depositions of percipient, party, and expert witnesses.
  • Prepare for and attend court hearings.
  • Prepare for and attend mediations.


  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admitted to practice law in the state of California preferred, but not required.
  • Class Action experience is preferred.
  • Superior writing skills. 
  • Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in legal research tools and software.
  • Proficiency with Relativity and/or Everlaw a plus.
  • Adaptability and willingness to learn and contribute to a growing department.
