Retirement Plan Administrator

Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Retirement Plan Administrator to join our team. The Retirement Plan Administrator will be responsible for managing and administering retirement plans, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and providing excellent service to plan sponsors and participants.

Responsibilities:

  1. Administer retirement plans, including 401(k), 403(b), pension, and profit-sharing plans, in accordance with plan documents, IRS regulations, and ERISA requirements.
  2. Process contributions, distributions, loans, and other transactions accurately and timely, using retirement plan administration software.
  3. Perform nondiscrimination testing, including ADP/ACP testing, coverage testing, and top-heavy testing, and prepare required compliance reports.
  4. Prepare and file annual Form 5500 and other IRS filings for retirement plans, ensuring accuracy and compliance with filing deadlines.
  5. Calculate and allocate employer contributions, match contributions, and profit-sharing contributions to participant accounts.
  6. Communicate with plan sponsors and participants to address inquiries, provide assistance, and resolve issues related to retirement plans.
  7. Conduct participant enrollment meetings, education sessions, and retirement planning seminars as needed.
  8. Stay informed about changes in retirement plan regulations, tax laws, and industry trends, and implement necessary updates to plan administration processes.
  9. Collaborate with internal teams, including sales, operations, and compliance, to ensure effective delivery of retirement plan administration services.
  10. Maintain accurate records, documentation, and correspondence related to retirement plans in compliance with recordkeeping requirements.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or related field preferred.
  2. Minimum of  2 years of experience in retirement plan administration or related field.
  3. Strong knowledge of retirement plan regulations, including ERISA, IRS regulations, and DOL requirements.
  4. Experience with retirement plan administration software and recordkeeping systems preferred.
  5. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and mathematical skills.
  6. Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management abilities.
  7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with plan sponsors and participants.
  8. Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  9. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  10. Certifications such as QKA, QPA, or CPC a plus.
