Definiti is a national retirement services company that helps clients manage and administer their retirement plans. We help clients define what's possible and what’s next for their retirement plans. 

The Product Sales Consultant is responsible for supporting the distribution and marketing of retirement services – including traditional DC/DB administrative services, 3(16) fiduciary services, pension outsourcing, and full-scope retirement consulting to existing Definiti clients– in partnership with the organization’s external sales team. The Product Sales Consultant will support sales and Definiti to achieve stated business development goals through financial intermediaries including banks, wire house broker-dealers, regional broker-dealers, registered investment advisors, consultants, Certified Public Accountants, law firms, employee benefit firms.

*****Primary products are Cash Balance and 3(16) fiduciary services*****

Primary Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Cross sell 3(16) and Cash Balance Services to existing clients.
  • Establish and execute an annual strategic business plan to achieve organizational revenue and growth targets.
  • Handle Solo(k) proposals and facilitate sales process.
  • Provide frequent and effective communication and education to advisors, recordkeeping partners (internal and external), and other centers of influence to support the external sales team’s business development efforts.
  • Assist in the preparation of pricing and proposals for all lines of business Defined Contribution, Defined Benefit (including Cash Balance), 3(16) Fiduciary Services, Recordkeeping, Consulting, Pension Outsourcing).
  • Coordinate pricing needed to meet and/or exceed required revenue and annual recurring revenue targets.
  • Prepare and deliver Service Agreements for execution as part of the new client on-boarding process.
  • Lead advisors and prospective clients through the completion of required documentation for successful on-boarding.
  • Participate in the preparation/development of key reporting metrics for executive leadership.
  • Maintain database for the capture and reporting of monthly commission calculations by territory.
  • Provide exemplary service to advisors and new clients to ensure an effective transition from sales to implementation.
  • Partner with the external sales team in point-of-sale meetings with advisors/prospects/wholesalers/centers of influence.
  • Serve as a resource for – and respond to – inquiries regarding plan design opportunities, industry trends, and the legislative/regulatory environment surrounding Definiti’s various lines of business.
  • Effectively communicate Definiti’s mission, value proposition, service solutions, processes, and pricing structure to advisors, prospects, and other referral sources/centers of influence.
  • Manage 3(16) and Cash Balance sales pipeline in concert with the external sales team via the expert utilization of CRM tools.
  • Participate in continuing education, training, and coaching development programs to enhance skills and provide opportunities for advancement within the organization.
  • Adhere to the highest levels of integrity and professional conduct. 
  • Maintain a strong knowledge of key competitors with the ability to highlight Definiti’s unique advantages/value proposition.

Competencies Required

  • Working knowledge of the retirement plan services industry, ERISA, IRC.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills including presenting and public speaking.
  • Demonstrated experience in the development of strategic business plans in support of sales growth.
  • Ability to grow expertise in the retirement services market, understanding of platforms/solutions/distribution & service models, key competitors, and centers of influence.
  • Superior time management skills.
  • Strong collaboration skills: the ability to work in a team environment and demonstrate joint accountability for organizational success with peers.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, demanding environment.

Education and Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required 
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in the retirement plan/financial services industry with proven sales success with the distribution of administrative, compliance, and recordkeeping services.
  • Current QKA, CPFA or CPFC designation(s) or ability to obtain at least one designation within 12 months of hire.
  • Advanced CRM abilities (HubSpot experience preferred).
  • Occasional nationwide travel required (approximately 25%)
