Senior Distribution Specialist

Security Administrators, Inc.

in Remote / Binghamton NY / Hybrid

As a Senior Distribution Specialist, you will be responsible for the processing and validation of participant distributions from Defined Contribution qualified plans, as well as review of additional distributions processed by team members. You will also be responsible for the recordkeeper interactivity and best practices, election form maintenance, and assisting with onboarding and training.

This is a Telecommute Eligible position.  

The level for this position will be determined based on factors including relevant skills, experience and other qualifications.

Description of Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Complete and process loans, in-service, hardship, and termination forms to ensure that the participant is eligible for the distribution based on the plan document. Compile appropriate documents and communicate with reinsurers.
  • Complete software tracking of distributions and follow up on any incomplete distributions.
  • Report on the progress of all requests and provide updates when requested to other team members, participants, plan sponsors and financial advisors.
  • Provide support to the Plan Consultants.
  • Check participant vesting calculations against a Plan Document and hour history.  Verify vesting and distribution permissibility of distributions processed by team members.
  • Occasionally explain and discuss the mechanics of the distribution process with individual participants and plan sponsors in qualified plans.
  • Handle more complex processing issues, provide processing support and assist with training.
  • Responsible for best practice guidance regarding individual recordkeeper requirements for distributions.
  • Provide guidance and feedback on distribution processes and procedures to management.
  • Create and maintain brokerage election form templates.
  • Create and deliver annual 1099 batches to affected participants and plan sponsors.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as needed by management.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 2 – 5 years of related experience is required.
  • Recordkeeper Website Navigation knowledge is required.
  • Knowledge of pension software or PensionPro preferred.
  • RPF Course required to be completed during onboarding.
  • QKA (ASPPA) credentials preferred.
  • Strong analytic and decision-making skills.
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to think analytically and critically.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Ability to pay close attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize and organize a heavy workload.
  • Ability to adapt to change and work under pressure.
  • Ability to learn quickly and take on increasing responsibility.
  • Ability to prioritize and organize a heavy workload.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule with occasional overtime.
  • Must demonstrate a “can-do” attitude by taking initiative, being enthusiastic, flexible and dependable.

Education Required: Associate degree in a related field is strongly preferred.
