Job Summary: Leads team of ESOP professionals to ensure client satisfaction.  Provides client support with all aspects of engagement to include review of administration, related testing, government forms preparation and consulting for highly complex ESOP Clients. May also provide technical training.

Leadership

  • Manages and develops a high performing team through implementation of effective recruitment, training/cross training, performance management, mentoring, motivation and coaching.
  • Leads and engages employees in a positive and professional manner where inclusion and diversity of thought are leveraged for innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Works with employee to set and execute employee SMART goals/objectives.
  • Maintains safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following and enforcing standards and procedures, complying with legal regulations

Client service

  • Reviews allocations and testing related to ESOP book of business.
  • Client relationship manager on book of business.
  • Reviews legal plan document and provides guidance to plan sponsors.
  • Coordinates plan distribution process including schedules, forms, and summarization of distribution directives. 
  • Coordinates year end processing issues, plan financials and shares release calculations as well as assistance with client calls/communications.
  • Leads process improvement projects deemed necessary after annual review of internal procedures, incorporating any upcoming tax law updates
  • Consults on, recommends, and implements resolutions to client issues, satisfaction, responses and any other items necessary to assure customer loyalty.
  • Maintains current awareness and understanding of legislative changes, IRS rulings, and expert opinions related to the processing of retirement plans.
  • Researches new issues to determine their impact on plan qualification status
  • Assists in training of new processes.

Required Education, Experience and Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

  • Bachelor’s degree in business related field or combination of education and industry experience
  • Minimum of 5-10 years of ESOP experience in third party administration environment including experience in preparing, reviewing, and explaining qualified plan compliance testing and government forms filing 
  • 5+ year’s people leader experience
  • Proven ability to utilize technical skills and available tools to solve compliance issues.
  • Advanced knowledge of retirement plan tax law (ERISA)
  • Strong mathematical aptitude, specifically detailed financial reconciliation, and data analysis.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication, decision making, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Strong motivation, business judgment, critical thinking, and analytical skills.
  • Proven ability to coach cross-functional and geographically disperse individuals and groups.
  • Ability to effectively partner and lead through change management
  • Must be able to successfully resolve escalated client and personnel issues.
  • Must be able to successfully balance multiple projects concurrently.
  • Must possess a strong sense of client focus, fiscal responsibility, personal growth, professionalism, and a positive attitude.
  • Advanced level of Excel

Preferred (but not required) education or skills for this role are

  • ASPPA or CEBS preferred
  • Experience in Relius a plus

Travel: Up to 5%.
