Regional VP - Retirement Plan Sales

We are currently seeking candidates with B2B external sales experience. Successful candidates will be responsible for prospecting and selling retirement plans to small and medium-size businesses by developing and expanding Benetech’s established national network of referral sources such as wire-house and independent financial advisors, CPAs, recordkeeping wholesalers, and mutual fund wholesalers. 

We are primarily looking for self-motivated sales people who understand how to develop and maintain an advisor referral network, and use that network to generate new sales opportunities.

Primary duties and responsibilities include:

  • Serve as primary contact for referral sources (financial advisors and CPAs) in a designated territory, on all aspects of start-up and takeover of qualified retirement plans (401(k), Cash Balance Pension, Profit Sharing, etc.).
  • Present customized proposals and consult on retirement plan options.
  • Going out in the field, locally, to meet new Financial Advisors is expected. 
  • Present sales training seminars for financial advisors, information seminars for plan sponsors, and CPA Continuing Education seminars.
  • Work closely with all channels within our referral network

Essential Skill Requirements:

  • Proven leadership and excellence in B2B sales, including effective verbal and written communication skills and excellent interpersonal communication. Experience within the retirement plan industry is preferred but not required (we will train qualified candidates on retirement plan sales).
  • Proven ability to generate sales leads in a designated territory via email, phone and in-person.
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving abilities and able to instill strong sense of confidence with clients and their advisors.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to manage time, independently and in a team environment, while maintaining priorities effectively in a fast paced, deadline driven environment.
  • A good understanding of basic 401(k) rules is preferred but not required
  • Strong experience with MS Office 

Work Environment/Physical Requirements:

The job is a full-time position, and is performed remotely at the employee’s home, as well as some time in an office with other team members. Work environment includes extended periods of sitting, with extensive work using Outlook and PDF files/deliverables. Physical requirements include desk work using a company provided laptop and heavy phone calls, Zoom calls, and conference calls. Job requires in-person meetings with referral sources and/or prospects, as well. Some travel may be required for on-site meetings with prospects and/or their advisors in your local territory.
