PBMares Retirement Plan Services (RPS) consulting group is looking for a Retirement Plan Administrator - Senior Associate to join our Norfolk team.  This is an experienced-level position for a professional to be part of a collaborative team and receive mentoring from all experienced team members including the partners.  This unique opportunity offers outstanding career growth potential, team building, and leadership experience.

RPS is a specialized niche that provides third-party administration services for over 800 plans.  We work directly with the owners and leaders of companies to provide plan design consulting, annual administration, and compliance work.

An ideal candidate would be an experienced Third Party Administrator that has a high level of attention to detail and wants to be a member of a team where their contribution will be valued. 

What you will do:

  1. Manage a book of business that is a mix of tested, safe-harbor and cross-tested plans
  2. Complete annual plan administration for clients’ retirement plans, including plan reconciliations and Form 5500 preparation
  3. Address administrative issues and answer clients’ questions regarding ongoing plan administration
  4. Consult with clients to achieve their desired retirement plan goals and recommend plan design changes
  5. Able to work independently to meet deadlines; while also able to effectively integrate into a team environment
  6. Maintains professional appearance and demeanor reflective of the firm, and demonstrates effective organizational skills at all times
  7. Perform other retirement plan administration-related job duties

Requirements

What we require and prefer:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field
  2. 2+ years of plan administration experience
  3. Proficient skills with Microsoft products, specifically Excel and Word

Preferred, but not required:

  1. QKA is preferred or able to attain
  2. Experience with Relius is preferred
