Who we are:  Kentucky Trust Company (KTC), founded in 1995, is located at 218 West Main Street, Danville, Kentucky.  KTC is a subsidiary of Whitaker Bank Corporation whose main office is in Lexington, Kentucky with branches throughout central and eastern Kentucky.  KTC is staffed by experienced, nationally certified specialists in the key areas of trust administration, retirement and financial planning, and investment management. KTC Retirement Solutions provides Recordkeeping, Third Party Administration, Financial Advisor, and Trustee services to small businesses and professional service corporations.

What we are looking for: We are seeking a retirement plan professional with at least 5 to 7 years of experience in the industry who is familiar with all aspects of plan administration. This person will work on-site and must possess and effectively demonstrate the following:

  • Ability to communicate effectively with Plan Sponsors, financial advisors and CPAs.
  • Knowledge of defined contribution retirement plans
  • Proficient MS Office and computer skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Deadline oriented with excellent time management
  • High degree of organization and attention to detail
  • Institute of Certified Bankers (ICB) or ASPPA credentials preferred but not required

Specific job responsibilities include: 

  • Daily communications via phone, email, etc. with Plan Sponsors, Participants, CPA’s and others involved with plans
  • Maintaining the retirement plans within compliance of all IRS and DOL regulations
  • Identifying and implementing plan corrections as needed
  • Review participant distribution and loan activity and contribution submissions
  • Eligibility determination
  • Contribution calculations and allocations
  • Self-employment calculations
  • Annual compliance testing including ADP/ACP Tests, 410(b) Coverage Test and 416 Top Heavy Test
  • Preparation and delivery of Forms 5500-SF and 8955-SSA
  • Send out year-end census requests and review information received for completeness 
  • Review and monitor plans to ensure optimum plan design and present suggestions to client
  • Involved with required Plan Amendments, Document Restatements and Discretionary Plan Amendments
  • Involved with preparation of required Notices (including QDIA, Safe Harbor and Fee Disclosures)
  • Staying informed of new developments, policies, and laws concerning retirement plans 
  • Attend conferences, seminars and webinars to further education
