Tenet Financial Group is an industry-leading Third-Party Administrator (TPA) of small business funding products and 401(k) Plans located in Aledo, Texas. We have been providing retirement plan administration services to our valued clients for over 14 years. We are currently seeking resumes for an experienced 401(k) Plan Administrator.  

Job Title: 401(k) Plan Administrator

The 401(k) Plan Administrator for Tenet Financial Group administers and coordinates retirement plans for small businesses in accordance with policies, goals, and objectives established by the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Board of Directors. This includes, but is not limited to: Plan design and qualification, ADP/ACP testing, top heavy and coverage testing, contribution calculations for match, profit sharing and safe harbor, distribution and loan calculations, preparation of IRS Form 5500 and IRS Form 5558, preparation of IRS Form 1099-R, valuation/compliance reports, and asset reconciliation and trust accounting.

The primary job duty encompasses all aspects of 401(k) plan administration for a personal block of clients. This includes all client communication to help lead clients through the annual cycle of collecting, processing, and filing accurate data. It also includes working with team members and clients to ensure completion of all IRS compliance testing and filings by the required annual deadlines.

The 401(k) Plan Administrator is exposed to highly sensitive client and service information, and works in an intense, fast-paced, multi-tasking environment. Critical thinking, high attention to detail, accuracy, sound judgment, strong communication and follow-up skills, exceptional organizational skills, problem solving ability, knowledge of retirement plan administration and IRS regulations, and a positive and professional attitude are all vital to success in this position.

Daily Responsibilities:

  • Reconciliation of 401(k) plan assets
  • Determination of participant eligibility
  • Annual IRS compliance testing
  • Preparation of IRS Forms
  • Plan Documents and Restatements
  • Ability to effectively communicate retirement plan, IRS, and DOL related information via phone and email
  • Schedule and maintain a calendar of appointments, meetings, and deadlines 
  • Initiate phone calls, emails, and follow-up conversations
  • Resolve routine and complex inquiries and problems requiring in-depth knowledge of retirement plans, IRS regulations, organizational policies, procedures & projects in progress
  • Gather, compute, summarize and analyze data for special reports

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years experience in retirement plan administration services is preferred, QKA ideal
  • Retirement Plan Administration background as well as IRS and DOL regulation knowledge is preferred 
  • Franchise Industry knowledge is preferred
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to work independently with manager review, as well as with team members
  • Must have an inherent drive to succeed along with a competitive spirit
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as organizational skills
  • Possess high level of administrative and secretarial skills and versatility in use of related office software
  • Ability to research and resolve client issues
  • Ability to quickly learn new programs and technology as needed
  • Social personality and genuine amiability with people
  • The ability to work as part of a team
  • Foster/promote a positive image and professional appearance
  • Ability to meet deadlines

Minimum Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience may substitute for minimum education requirements

Compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
