in Boston MA
Celebrating its 50th anniversary recently, Segal Roitman LLP, New England’s oldest and largest union-side labor and employment firm, is seeking to hire a lateral attorney with 4-8+ years
of Taft-Hartley Fund experience to join its thriving practice in Boston, MA. For decades, Segal Roitman has been improving the lives of working people, unions, benefit funds, and allied organizations. Segal Roitman offers exceptional,
full-service legal representation to our institutional clients on all aspects of labor and employee benefits laws. We also work strategically with clients on legislative, regulatory and government relations initiatives. Segal Roitman also represents
individuals and groups of workers in a full array of employment law matters, including civil rights and wage & hour litigation, contract review, and severance negotiations.
Successful candidates must have excellent academic records and employment references, extensive experience representing and litigating on behalf of Taft-Hartley benefit funds on a range of issues arising under ERISA and the Internal Revenue Code. Candidates should be detail-oriented and possess excellent legal research and writing skills; be able to manage conflict and adversarial situations; be able to establish and nurture professional relationships and maintain calm under pressure; possess strong planning and time management skills and an ability to develop work plans with minimal supervision, including prioritizing and managing multiple tasks; possess excellent listening, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills; and be able to thrive in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment with quick thinking, energy, humor, flexibility, compassion, hard work, and professionalism.
While we work hard for our clients, we also strive to live the values we fight for on their behalf by promoting a healthy work-life balance for all members of our Segal Roitman family. In addition to generous vacation and holiday time, health insurance, long term disability, and retirement contributions, our benefits include reasonable flex-time and remote work options. We also provide our attorneys with extensive opportunities for professional growth and development. Lateral hires will initially work on teams with partners but can expect the opportunity to take on significant responsibility to serve our clients in all aspects of our practice from early on.
BIPOC and members of other traditionally underrepresented groups are strongly urged to apply.
Interested candidates should send a resume, law school transcript, two writing samples, and employment references to: ERISAhiring@segalroitman.com
