Retirement Plan Administrator

JOB SUMMARY

The Retirement Plan Administrator is responsible for administration of Qualified Retirement Plans to include 401(k) plans, profit sharing plans, defined benefit plans and 403(b) plans.  Administration includes supervision of the plan operation according to ERISA laws and the plan document, compliance testing, review of client reporting and confirming accuracy of data and meeting IRS filing requirements and deadlines for qualified plan.

DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Consult with clients and advisors regarding the clients’ specific needs and on-going plan requirements
• Review plan document and input necessary data into administration system
• Perform data review, eligibility determination, required minimum distribution calculations and payroll reconciliation
• Calculate employer contributions
• Perform compliance testing and trust asset reconciliation
• Prepare forms to meet IRS and Department of Labor filing requirements and deadlines for qualified plans
• Communicate with client contacts and advisors regarding plan operation and administration requirements
• Interacting with other FinDec employees from the client servicing team, recordkeeping team and relationship managers to assure seamless plan operation in all aspects for the client

OTHER FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Perform other duties as assigned. 

 SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

• College degree in accounting, finance, math, or related field
• Excellent math and analytical skills
• Ability to organize, prioritize and handle multiple projects at the same time
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent customer service skills
• Advanced experience with Excel
• Ability to work with others on a team and ability to work independently

REQUIRED

• Minimum 5 years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum of a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in departmentally related field.

PREFERRED

• Specialized training in retirement plan administration.
• A designation (QPA, QKA, QPFC) through American Society of Pension Professionals and Actuaries

REQUIRED LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS/TRAINING

If not already attained, Retirement Plan Administrator must obtain the following certifications upon being hired to the position:

• Qualified 401(k) Administrator Designation (QKA)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work is primarily sedentary in nature; no special demands are required.
