WHO are we looking for? 

CAPTRUST is seeking a Fee Benchmarking Specialist (Vendor Analysis Specialist) who will work with our Financial Advisors, client services professionals, and occasionally directly with firm clients to fulfill projects and deliverables for firm prospective and existing clients. The Fee Benchmarking Specialist will manage the analysis of service providers suitable for clients/prospects as well as deadlines to accurately complete and/or review materials before ultimate delivery to clients.  Additionally, the Specialist will identify ways to create and document process efficiencies to improve client deliverables and client experience.

Job Responsibilities: 

Work with our financial advisors, client services, and occasionally directly with firm clients to:

  • Analyze and benchmark service provider fees for institutional clients and prospects, including record keepers, third-party administrators, trustees, and custodians
  • Conduct due diligence and coverage of institutional service providers
  • Manage projects and coordinate with outside vendor contacts on behalf of our clients
  • Build and maintain relationships with service provider contacts to coordinate client-specific needs/requests
  • Administer internal bench marking database
  • Create client, prospect, and firm-level reports
  • Manage projects and deadlines and review deliverables for completeness and accuracy before providing to client services/advisors
  • Contribute to team or firm-level strategic projects
  • Identify and focus on opportunities to enhance or improve the efficiency of team deliverables/operations
  • May perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Completion of a four-year college degree – Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or Accounting preferred or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years of relevant industry experience

Desired Qualifications/Skills:

  • Experience working with defined contribution plans, specifically 401(k) and 403(b) plans
  • Retirement plan/record keeping or procurement experience
  • Project management experience a plus
  • Working knowledge of ERISA guidelines and regulations
  • Industry-related certifications and designations are a plus (examples: FINRA Series 6, 65,63,7, CRPS, AIF, QKA)
  • Significant experience with Microsoft products, especially Excel/PowerPoint
