Serve as the technical expert, project manager, and final review for actuarial calculations related to the annual funding, accounting, and compliance requirements for retiree health benefit plans and single/multi-employer health benefit plans

Responsibilities

  • Be a key contact for communication with clients, including day to day contact, participation in client meetings, and presentations
  • Assist with strategy, idea sharing, and problem resolution
  • Perform or oversee necessary calculations or analysis on special projects
  • Oversee the annual valuation process, funding valuations, budget projections, and accounting results
  • Prepare and monitor annual project budgets and client invoicing
  • Manage relationships with brokers and other referral sources
  • Serve as resource / subject matter expert to internal and external clients
  • Assist in business development efforts, including RFP responses, conference attendance, develop and maintain a professional business network

Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in math, actuarial science, or other related field
  • One or more credentials from the Society of Actuaries required
  • If not fully credentialed, pursuit of FSA is required
  • 8+ years of health actuarial experience
  • Project management experience
  • Strong communication skills, including client consulting and presentations
