Purpose of Position

The Pension Analyst will be responsible for the day-to-day administration of defined benefit pension plans with an assigned caseload of clients.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform, with guidance from other team members, routine, and recurring plan administration tasks for clients’ defined benefit plans (e.g., benefit calculations, retiree and death admin processing, annual data updates, assist with preparation of benefit statements).
  • Maintain participant databases and ensure accurate.
  • Participate in planning activities and other relevant meetings to represent the Defined Benefit product and ensure client satisfaction.
  • Provide administration support to pension management team as needed.
  • Support production environment (defects and trends) and execute workflow and defect management.
  • Execute manual processing with proper documentation and follow-up.
  • Respond to participant inquiries in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Execute system updates and changes to recurring processes.
  • Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Peer review files, reports, and outgoing correspondence

Competencies Required

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
  • Demonstrated excellence in written and verbal communication.
  • Must be detailed and possess strong organizational skills.
  • Time management focused adhering to deadlines and timelines
  • Proficient with numbers and basic calculations
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • A demonstrated track-record of consistently meeting and/or exceeding performance expectations.

Education and Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience related to defined benefit administration services or retirement plan administration.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Math, Accounting, Finance, or related field: equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • At least 5 years working consistently with MS Access and MS Excel
