Description:
Serve as the primary Actuary for a segment of qualified retirement plans. Partner with other TRA departments and external plan advisors to satisfy the needs of our plan sponsors with the primary goal of building
lasting, value driven, client relationships by providing an exceptional customer service experience
Responsibilities:
- Expert technical and research skills regarding retirement programs, compliance, and design as evidenced
by attainment of applicable SOA EA, ASA, or FSA, ASPPA CPC and IRS ERPA designations.
- Guide and mentor other defined benefit team members
- Review and certify all aspects of the actuarial reporting and filings related to defined benefit and
cash balance plans, as well as GASB and FASB reporting for clients with post-employment retirement benefits
- Collaborate with the sales team on plan design illustration for new prospects
- Collaborate with the client relationship managers
assigned to the defined benefit and cash balance plans to ensure we are proactively communicating with plan sponsors and/or advisors to discuss annual compliance requirements
- Quality review of all aspects of actuarial reporting and
filings
- Promote client retention and identify opportunities to build existing relationships through exceptional customer service
- Manage dashboards and worktrays to ensure the desired TRA customer service experience is continuously
portrayed
- Maintain awareness of laws, regulations, internal policies and procedures for this position
- Offer recommendations for improvement in processes and procedures
- Serve as Subject Matter Advisor (SMA)

- Perform other job related duties and special projects as assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in
Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics or equivalent professional work experience
- ASA, FSA designation, or Enrolled Actuary designation in good standing
- Excellent quantitative, analytical and problem solving skills
- High degree
of self-motivation
- Knowledge of and experience with all aspects of defined benefit plans including funding and accounting requirements
- Familiarity with ASC and Datair software is preferred
- Exceptional customer service
skills
- Strong organizational and problem solving skills, with the ability to track multiple tasks and issues, set goals and prioritize tasks in a fast paced environment
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong
knowledge of PC applications, primarily the Microsoft Office Suite
- Must be able to work both independently and with direction
