Retirement Plan Administrator

Gateway Pension Services, Ltd. is a small, yet well-established retirement plan administration and consulting firm.  We are looking for a knowledgeable, energetic Retirement Plan Administrator to join our highly trained and experienced team.

Responsibilities include:

• Review census to determine plan eligibility
• Reconcile trust assets
• Review and approve participant loans and distributions, including required minimum distributions
• Review of plan document provisions for proper plan administration
• Calculate employer contributions based on the plan’s provisions
• Knowledge of ERISA, IRS & DOL law regarding qualified plans
• Prepare annual non-discrimination tests (ADP/ACP, 401(a)(4), 410(b) 415, 416) and discuss testing results with client
• Prepare IRS Forms 5500, 5558, 5330, 8955 and discuss forms with the client.
• Conduct annual meetings with client to discuss plan issues
• Prepare necessary forms for clients who wish to terminate their plan

Requirements include:

• Extensive knowledge of defined contribution plans, with knowledge of defined benefit plans preferred.
• 5+ years’ experience in a similar role working in the retirement industry.
• Ability to handle a case load of 50 to 75 plans.  The plans are mostly small, with some large plans included.
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, including the ability to consult with clients and other industry professionals on complex plan issues.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
• ASPPA QKA designation required, QPA/APA designation or greater recommended.

Preferences include:

• Bachelor’s degree (strongly preferred)
• Experience with Datair Pension System, Pension Reporter and Plan Document systems
• Experience with multiple employer plans
• Experience with PensionPro
