Retirement Plan Consultant

Overall responsibility
Support the on-going service needs of existing clients.
Key areas of responsibility
- Develop new technical skills and expand knowledge of our systems and recordkeeping
software to find better ways to service our clients and adapt to system changes and upgrades
- Act as BlueStar’s ambassador to its clients
Consultants:
- New client plan design consultations and document
preparation
- Work with client to achieve plan goals like increased participation and retirement readiness
- Consult with clients and adopting employers regarding recommended or requested plan design changes
- Prepare and review plan
amendments
- Support account managers and other departments with compliance questions
- Conduct meetings with clients to review plan status and review compliance reports
- Review testing reports and allocations prepared by
administrators
- Train administrators on advanced plan design and administration
- Perform testing and allocations as required to meet client needs
- Work directly with auditor for large filers where administrator is not
senior
- Evaluate ownership and affiliations to determined controlled group and ASG status
- Consult with clients regarding plan terminations
- Assist with special requests for plan corrections
- Assist client with DOL and/or IRS
inquiries
- Provide clients with guidance on correcting plan errors through EPCRS
- Stay informed on regulatory and legislative changes that impact clients’ plans

- Ability to maintain data security by following all data security guidelines
