The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining solid customer relationships and by performing all day to day work that is required
for retirement plan administration. The ideal candidate will, have pension/retirement plan administration experience, strong attention to detail, and superior customer service skills. The candidate must also have excellent organizational, communication,
and problem-solving skills.
Job Description: The candidate must:
- Manage all aspects of client administration for complex defined contribution and/or defined benefit plans
- Answer client, advisor,
and accountant calls and correspondence regarding retirement plan administration providing guidance for all compliance related issues
- Prepare Annual Administration reports, Form 5500, and related schedules using PPS proprietary
programs
- Calculate maximum and minimum contribution amounts for plan sponsors to determine the optimal contribution level annually including safe harbor match and ADP/ACP non-discrimination testing for non-safe harbor 401k & 403(b)
plans
- Perform non-discrimination compliance testing ADP, ACP, 402(g), 415(c), Top Heavy and Coverage & 410(b)
- Prepare signature ready government Form 5500 and all applicable schedules; prepare all required government filings for the
plan
- Reconcile fund balances at plan and participant level for audit package preparation
- Prepare, interpret and analyze plan documents, agreements as well as legal contracts to resolve issues relating to employer sponsored
plans.
- Resolve any plan, transaction, and/or distribution issues by clarifying, determining the root cause, selecting and explaining the best solution, and expediting correction or adjustment; following up to ensure resolution
- Prepare asset
reconciliation, load/import census data and determine plan eligibility
- Complete plan compliance reporting and asset valuations, including asset reconciliation, in a timely and accurate manner
Requirements:
The candidate will:
- Have 2 or more years’ retirement plan administration experience
- Hold a bachelor’s degree or comparable professional work experience
- Possess strong financial acumen and the ability to
put accounting principles into practice
- Demonstrate strong customer focus and an excellent phone manner
- Have the ability to solve complex problems without direct supervision
- Have strong attention to detail, organization, multi-
tasking, and follow up skills
- Demonstrate superior interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
- Thrive in a team environment and be a positive team player
- Have technology and computer proficiency in Microsoft Office and
ASC
- ASPPA or NIPA designation preferred
