Document Specialist

Purpose of position

The Document Specialist will be responsible for the preparation of qualified plan documents (i.e., 401(k) plan documents) for the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) Cycle 3 required restatement period. This is a project based position for up to 15 months.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conversion of qualified plan documents for the Cycle 3 restatement period
  • Preparation of plan documents for new and takeover clients
  • Preparation of plan amendments for existing clients
  • Preparation of Plan Termination documents for existing clients

Competencies Required

  • Experience with ASC or similar document software system
  • Demonstrates excellent attendance, punctuality and time management
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Prompt follow-up on open items with clients or internal team members
  • Ability to maintain data entry accuracy while multitasking and focusing to meet deadlines
  • Conveys a professional and positive attitude while interacting with internal team members 

Education and Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a financial service operations environment
  • Broad knowledge of the retirement plan industry
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field: equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of degree
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
