Preparation of actuarial valuations, governmental filings, benefit calculations and FASB/GASB disclosures.  Coordinate workflow with other actuarial students, actuaries and staff.  Continue career toward enrollment and other actuarial designations.


  • Expert technical and research skills regarding retirement programs, compliance, and design.
  • Guide, work with and mentor other defined benefit team members.
  • Preparation of actuarial reporting and filings related to defined benefit and cash balance plans, as well as GASB and FASB reporting for clients with post-employment retirement benefits.
  • Collaborate with the client relationship managers assigned to the defined benefit and cash balance plans to ensure we are proactively communicating with plan sponsors and/or advisors to discuss annual compliance requirements.
  • Maintain awareness of laws, regulations, internal policies and procedures for this position.
  • Offer recommendations for improvement in processes and procedures.
  • Perform other job related duties and special projects as assigned.


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics or equivalent professional work experience
  • Excellent quantitative, analytical and problem solving skills
  • High degree of self-motivation
  • Knowledge of and experience with defined benefit plans
  • Familiarity with ProVal software is preferred
  • Strong organizational and problem solving skills, with the ability to track multiple tasks and issues, set goals and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong knowledge of PC applications, primarily the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Must be able to work both independently and with direction
