We have a current opening for a Director of Retirement Plan Solutions within our Wealth Management department. The Director of Retirement Plan Solutions will serve as the primary relationship manager on an existing book of clients and will be responsible for leading the Wealth Management’s qualified plan business— Retirement Plan Solutions.  The National Association of Plan Advisors recognized BerganKDV, and it's 1.3 billion in assets, as award winning as a Top Defined Contribution team.  

The Director of Retirement Plan Solutions will be required to conduct investment review meetings, educate plan sponsors on fiduciary governance best practices, lead the vendor bench marking process, consult on plan design with clients, and coordinate participant education and financial wellness efforts with BerganKDV’s education specialist. 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute the strategy for driving wow client service and business growth for the retirement plan solutions business
  • Manage, coach, mentor, and train other retirement plan team members as the leader of the qualified plan business
  • Serve as the primary Retirement Plan Advisor on an established group of clients
  • Manage client relationships, taking full ownership for the execution of our service model
  • Provide a high level of customer service to expand existing client relationships, improve client satisfaction, strengthen client commitment, ensure client retention and grow revenue
  • Identify and develop new opportunities to deliver advice and solutions to assist existing clients with their ongoing retirement plan and other business needs
  • Facilitate and support the development of new business in coordination with BerganKDV’s firm wide sales team and other business units
  • Support broader BerganKDV Wealth Management growth and leadership efforts by participating as an active member of the BerganKDV Wealth Management’s leadership team 
  • Continue to maintain qualified plan technical expertise

Education / Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics or related field
  • A target of 5-10 years of experience in the retirement plan, investment management, or financial services industry, preferably in a client facing role
  • Prior experience with plan administration, investment due diligence, vendor bench marking, and fiduciary governance
  • Proficient interpersonal communication, writing and group presentation skills
  • Extraordinary talent for servicing clients
  • Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Able to make critical decisions independently
  • Prior management and leadership experience preferred
  • Preferred designation(s): AIF, CFP, CPFA, CRPS, QPFC
