Defined Contribution Plan Administrator

We are looking for an experienced, energetic, bright and self-motivated professional to join our growing Defined Contribution Team.  Our Plan Administrators provide full client services to a designated block of clients and their advisors, including day to day communication and management of their workflow and project deadlines. Our DC team is supported by our strong implementation/take-over specialist, plan document team and our loan and distribution team.  If you are looking for a long-term career, with the potential for growth, this is the place for you! 

MGKS is an actuarial and retirement plan administration firm providing TPA services to all size of employers.  We work with business owners and their advisors to design, implement, and administer primarily 401(k) Profit Sharing Plans, Cash Balance Plans and Defined Benefit Plans. 

Candidates must be located in the greater Phoenix area or be in the process of relocating to the Phoenix area. (MGKS does not pay for moving expenses)

Position Responsibilities:

  • Maintain caseload of 90+ clients with 401(k) Profit Sharing plans (split between ADP tested & SH plans)
  • Cultivate existing client relationship with the client and their advisors
  • Review data for accuracy and completeness
  • Compliance testing to include ADP/ACP, 415, 410(b), Top Heavy and 401(a)(4) non-discrimination testing (2+ years), determine corrective measures as needed
  • Trust Reconciliation with a variety of plan assets including platform providers, pooled assets and SDBA's.
  • Review and approve loan and distribution requests
  • Prepare Form 5500 and other government related forms
  • Track plan terminations and follow thru to final liquidation

Key Abilities

  • Proficient in ASC, FTW , Excel, Word (PensionPro a plus)
  • Communicate in a positive manner with principals, clients, advisors, cpas and other professionals 
  • Ability to interpret plan document provisions and communicate effectively to plan sponsors and advisors
  • Ability to manage and prioritize workload
  • Superior organizational skills in order to meet DOL / IRS deadlines
  • Flexibility, adaptability and ability to shift gears as needed
  • Able to work independently as well as in a team environment
  • Desire to further credentials with ASPPA or NIPA
  • College degree

This is a full-time position with full range of benefits, including but not limited to, employer paid medical insurance, paid time off and employer sponsored 125 and 401(k) plans.  MGKS encourages furthering your career and knowledge by covering the cost of ASPPA and NIPA credential exams.  Additionally, MGKS provides an annual continuing education budget for each administrator to cover the cost of webcasts, conferences, etc., to maintain CEs.
