Why Retirement Administration at Human Interest?

As a Director of Retirement Administration you will be leading teams that provide administration services to our clients. You will be a crucial component of Human Interest's rapidly scaling Operations organization. In this role you will be responsible for taking care of some of our most valuable resources, managing and upleveling a talented group who are on the front lines helping people make the most of their 401(k) savings and getting on the right path to a secure financial future. Process-driven and people-focused, you are organized, friendly and flexible with a passion for participative leadership.

What you get to do every day:

  • As our Director of Retirement Administration you will work cross functionally with key stakeholders, delivering large projects and scaling improvements for your team 
  • You will also build relationships with Human Interest's customers, acting as an escalation point within the Operations Department
  • You will help troubleshoot key issues related to our customers' 401(k) retirement accounts. 
  • You are committed to your teams ongoing professional growth and learning. 
  • You are a natural leader with strong emotional intelligence who believes in collaboration which can be seen by the strong relationships you have built by earning trust and gaining influence 

What you bring to the role:

  • You have 7+ years of experience managing a team or teams that handle some aspect of the Annual Administration process
  • You have 12+ years of experience within the retirement industry
  • You are passionate about process and problem solving; constantly on the lookout for inefficiencies that can be improved upon
  • You are a self-starter and enjoy learning new programs, systems, and tools
  • You have excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • You have advanced knowledge of ERISA and IRS regulations
  • You will have experience with the A - Z of administration
  • You enjoy working seamlessly with cross functional groups
  • You are comfortable working in the fast moving and ambiguous environment of a technology startup
  • You have strong organizational skills; are able to juggle multiple tasks with varying deadlines and stakeholders in an effective manner
  • A metrics & data-driven mindset
  • Extensive experience building documentation for internal training and external knowledge
  • You will have proven success working alongside or managing multiple teams across a geographically dispersed area.
  • Prior experience managing vendor relationships
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Technical skills will include a working knowledge of Salesforce
  • Industry designation preferred (NIPA, ASPPA, etc)
