Defined Contribution / 401(k) Plan Administrator Cleveland Area TPA Firm

Suburban Cleveland, OH area retirement administration firm seeks an experienced person to handle day-to-day 401(k) administration work.  The successful applicant must have at least 4 years of experience with tax-qualified defined contribution plans, be a team player as well as have the ability to work independently and manage client relationships.  Experience with pension and defined benefit plans is a plus.  Knowledge of the FIS / Sungard administration and government forms software is essential. 

Responsibilities and Position requirements include:

  • Administering 401(k) and profit sharing plans;
  • Communicating with existing clients and their advisors -- excellent oral and written communication skills are necessary;
  • Having knowledge and experience with non-discrimination testing (ADP/ACP, Sections 415 and 410(b), and top heavy tests);
  • Preparing Form 5500 and required schedules;
  • Having familiarity and experience with the DOL electronic filing system for Form 5500 filings;
  • Reconciling trust assets for balance forward plans;
  • Having the ability to review and interpret plan documents;
  • Have a working knowledge of ERISA and tax regulations pertinent to defined contribution plan administration;
  • Have the ability to research laws, regulations and topics that relate to defined contribution plans;
  • Have the ability to develop and maintain time sensitive checklists and procedures;
  • Have proficiency in Microsoft Office applications;
  • Monitoring and meeting government deadlines for filings, contributions and annual testing;
  • Processing paperwork necessary to issue plan distributions and loans; and
  • Be detail oriented and ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment.
