Professional Requirements:

  • Enrolled Actuary designation.
  • Experience with small DB, CB, and “combo plan” arrangements.
  • Experience with PBGC premium payment and Termination procedures and forms.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft applications, as well as pension and actuarial calculation software.
  • Remaining up to date on proposed or actual legislative or regulatory changes that affect Qualified Plan matters.

  • Attention to detail with proactive problem solving ability.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and to prioritize projects.
  • Ability to work with others in a team environment.

Responsibilities and Job Duties:

  • Design plans, or combinations of plans to meet the client’s objectives.
  • Proactively design plan amendment specifics resulting from client objective or demographic changes.
  • Perform (or review) and certify annual calculations and residual reports including:
    • Annual contribution range determination.
    • Form 5500 Schedule SB.
    • Participant Benefit Summary.
    • AFTAP.
    • PBGC premiums.
    • FASB.
    • Top Heavy.
    • 415 .
    • 410(b), 401(a)(4) and 401(a)(26).
  • Determine Participant Distribution amounts and optional forms and relative values.
  • Taking the lead on PBGC termination procedure and filings including:
    • Developing appropriate timeline,
    • Preparation of Participant Benefit Notices, and NOIT,
    • Preparation (or review) of PBGC termination forms.
