in Laguna Hills CA / San Diego CA


We have an immediate opening if you are local to our Laguna Hills or San Diego, CA location and have experience performing these duties:

  • Manage and complete all aspects of administration of a caseload consisting mainly of Defined Benefit Plans including DB/DC Combo plans (80-100).
  • Analyze provisions in plan documents to ensure compliance with IRS and DOL regulations.
  • Confirm and analyze census information, determine eligibility, key, and highly compensated employees and input data.
  • Calculate employer contributions and perform all necessary compliance/non-discrimination testing.
  • Review plan assets and prepare trust reconciliations.
  • Prepare actuarial valuations and required IRS, DOL and PBGC filings.
  • Review plan and make recommendations to client to maximize tax advantages or to accommodate changes in client’s needs or demographics.
  • Support DOL, IRS and Account Audits, as needed.
  • Prepare benefit calculations and Required Minimum Distributions.

Knowledge / Skills / Education required:

  • Competence in all areas of Defined Benefit Plan administration.
  • Knowledge of IRS, DOL, ERISA and PBGC rules and regulations.
  • Knowledge of compliance requirements regarding employer contribution calculations, deduction limits, contribution deposit deadlines, top heavy determination, coverage testing, controlled groups and annual additions limitations.
  • Knowledge of all aspects of distributions
  • Ability to effectively communicate, both written and orally.
  • Maintain a positive attitude when addressing client questions and problems.
  • Ability to work under pressure of deadlines and demanding clients.
  • Work with minimal supervision.
  • Possess strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Analytical and critical-thinking skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent Interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrates initiative.
  • Software Skills: MS Office: Excel, Word, Outlook; Adobe Acrobat.
  • Knowledge of Datair, PensionPro and FTWilliam is preferred, but not required.

Minimum of 2+ years of Defined Benefit plan administration experience.
