Qualification Requirements:

  • 5 to 7 years of experience working in the qualified retirement plan industry
  • Extensive knowledge of qualified retirement plan testing and methods of correction
  • Ability to interpret plan document language
  • Excellent trust accounting skills for plans utilizing various recordkeepers, plans using multiple investment accounts and everything in between
  • Capability to calculate profit sharing contributions utilizing different allocation formulas including cross-tested and service/age-weighted plans
  • Familiarity with DC/DB combo plans
  • Experience preparing Forms 5500, Forms 5330 and other pension related tax forms
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Unrelenting attention to detail
  • Ability to change as the industry changes and to adjust with the constant evolution of technology
  • Be a growth minded professional with the ability to accept new challenges
  • High level of critical thinking to solve client issues and to suggest plan changes
  • Be highly organized with the ability to work in a team environment with little direct supervision
  • Committed to ongoing education to keep abreast of legislative changes affecting plan operation and design
  • ASPPA or NIPA credentials a plus
  • Experience with Relius Administration and FT William 5500 software a plus

Job Responsibilities:

  • Handle an assigned case load of retirement plans
  • Preparation of balance sheets and income statements
  • Analyze year-end census and employer information for completeness and accuracy
  • Preparation of required compliance tests
  • Preparation of employer contribution allocations
  • Reconciliation of participant accounts
  • Preparation of Forms 5500 and appropriate schedules
  • Process distributions/loans per client request
  • Maintain client and advisor relationships
