Ingham Retirement Group is one of the Southeast’s largest full service tier one TPA’s, providing consulting, investment advisory, record keeping and actuarial services and we are looking for an experienced, bright and energetic professional to join our Balance Forward Defined Contribution compliance staff.

The position serves as primary point of contact for interaction with clients, consultants, and others as it relates to:

  • Regulatory and legal compliance
  • Compliance testing
  • Annual reporting and valuation
  • Government reports and filings
  • Quality assurance review

  Job Functions, Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide superior customer service, including problem solving with minimal inconvenience to clients
  • Provide effective and timely verbal and written communications in a clear, concise and informative written manner
  • Assist the client with all initial and ongoing plan questions
  • Assist the client in meeting all IRS and Department of Labor deadlines necessary for qualified retirement plans
  • Maintain up-to date knowledge of present legislation and proposed legislative changes with regard to ERISA law through self-study and company-sponsored training sessions
  • Perform annual testing including 416, 410(b), 415, 401(a)(4), 401(k), 401(m) and deductibility
  • Review distribution paperwork
  • Review loan paperwork and coordinate processing of loans with asset holder
  • Prepare Form 5500 and coordinate with client to help ensure timely filing
  • Assist auditors if a plan is subject to an annual audit
  • As applicable, work with the Consultant or independently to coordinate and oversee activities that will ensure timely and accurate completion of a large book of business
  • Responsible for protecting, securing, and proper handling of all confidential data held by Ingham Retirement Group to ensure against unauthorized access, improper transmission, and/or unapproved disclosure of information that could result in harm to  our clients

  • Assist with other tasks and projects as assigned

Education, Skills, and Experience:

  • Four-year college or university degree in accounting, finance or other business-related field
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience as an ERISA DC plan administrator
  • QKA
  • Experience with SunGard Relius Administration system
  • Experience in FT Williams software preferred
  • Advanced level of DC plan knowledge of ERISA law as it relates to compliance testing, 5500’s, plan design, and plan document interpretation
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, Outlook
  • Strong mathematical, analytical, and computer skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Work well in a team environment; team player
  • Detail oriented, organized, accurate; ability to self-check work
  • Excellent research and problem-solving skills
