Empower Retirement is seeking an experienced Compliance Specialist who will, under general supervision, be responsible for the successful compliance management of related activities for a block of business, including Plan Adoption Agreements, compliance work, government forms and annual reports, and technical assistance.

What will you do?

  • Provides administrative support including quality assurance review and technical guidance to a team of Compliance Coordinators.
  • Consults clients and/or Compliance Coordinators on plan design decisions.
  • Maintains MS Access database including review of assigned block of business
  • Generates regularly scheduled reports and plan documents including necessary reporting and communication to assigned block of business
  • Completes complex non-discrimination tests and Form 5500's.
  • Demonstrates ability to consult on client issues and provide department level training and make recommendations to management regarding technical areas of improvement for more complex plans.
  • Others duties as assigned- but not limited to the following: participating in a committee for the purpose of establishing department level procedures; providing compliance and consulting support to a high profile block of business; and project lead responsibilities for ongoing and/or specific technical services associated with department and/or company services.

What will you need?

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or related area, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum four (4) years of compliance experience
  • Minimum two (2) years experience working with complex plans
